VidPlay — Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what information the VidPlay iOS application ("VidPlay", "the App", "we", "us", "our") collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. By installing or using VidPlay, you agree to this policy.
1. Information we do NOT collect
- Your videos. Videos imported from Photos, Files, or AirDrop, plus any audio extracted, compressed, converted, or trimmed by VidPlay, stay on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers or to any third party.
- Your name, address, payment details, or any directly identifying information. VidPlay has no login, no account, and no contact form within the app.
- Your Photos library content beyond what you grant. When you tap "Import", iOS shows the system picker — only the items you explicitly pick are read by the app.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Anonymous usage analytics
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how VidPlay is used so we can improve it. Each event includes the action taken (e.g. video_played, theme_selected, mp3_extracted, paywall_shown) and aggregate device data such as iOS version, device model, region, and app version. Events are not linked to your identity.
2.2 Crash diagnostics
We use Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports so we can fix bugs. A crash report includes the stack trace, app state at the time of the crash, device model, iOS version, and a randomly-generated installation identifier. No personal data and no content from your videos is included.
2.3 Advertising (free tier only)
If you are on the free tier, VidPlay displays a single banner ad at the bottom of the Library, Files, and Tools tabs through Google AdMob. Personalised ads use your iOS Advertising Identifier (IDFA) if and only if you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, AdMob serves non-personalised ads.
Premium users see no ads at all.
2.4 Purchase transactions
In-app purchases (Premium subscriptions and the Lifetime unlock) are processed entirely by Apple's StoreKit. We receive only the transaction status (active / cancelled / expired) so the app can unlock Premium features. We do not receive your name, billing address, card number, or any other payment detail — those stay with Apple.

4. How we use the information
- To operate and improve the app — fix bugs, optimise performance, plan features.
- To serve advertising on the free tier and respect your tracking preference (ATT).
- To validate and restore your Premium entitlement across devices that share your Apple Account.
5. Data retention
Anonymous analytics events are retained by Firebase for up to 14 months. Crash reports are retained by Crashlytics for 90 days. Advertising data is retained by Google AdMob according to Google's Privacy Policy. Purchase records are retained by Apple according to Apple's own policy.
6. Your privacy rights
6.1 If you are in the European Economic Area, UK, or Switzerland (GDPR)
You have the right to access, correct, port, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to processing on legitimate-interest grounds. To exercise these rights, contact us at letuyet1987.family@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. Because VidPlay does not collect directly identifying information, the data we can return is limited to the random installation identifier you provide us (visible in iOS Settings → VidPlay).
The lawful basis for our limited processing is your consent (analytics opt-in via iOS Settings → Privacy → Analytics & Improvements) and our legitimate interest in improving and securing the app.
6.2 If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)
You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. VidPlay does not sell personal information for money. We do allow Google AdMob to use your IDFA for personalised ads if you grant ATT permission — under California law this counts as "sharing", and you can opt out at any time by declining the iOS ATT prompt or by going to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and turning tracking off for VidPlay.
6.3 Everyone
You can disable advertising data at any time by upgrading to Premium (removes all ads) or by declining the ATT prompt (keeps banner ad but uses non-personalised serving).
7. Children's privacy
VidPlay is rated 4+ on the App Store and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EEA / UK). We do not direct VidPlay at children specifically; usage by minors should be supervised by a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.
8. International data transfers
VidPlay is published by an independent developer based in Vietnam. The anonymous analytics and crash data described above is processed on Google's global infrastructure, which may include servers in the United States and the European Union. Google maintains EU Standard Contractual Clauses and other safeguards for international transfers.
9. Security
All network traffic from VidPlay to its third-party services is encrypted using HTTPS (TLS). On-device storage uses standard iOS sandboxing — only VidPlay can read files stored in its container.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app and, where required, by an explicit opt-in. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
