VidPlay — Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") form a binding agreement between you ("you", "your") and the independent developer of VidPlay, Le Van Thanh ("we", "us", "VidPlay"). By downloading, installing, or using the VidPlay iOS application, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the app.
1. The app
VidPlay is an iOS application that plays video files already stored on the user's device, lets the user organise their library, switch between visual themes, and run a set of local processing tools (audio extraction, video compression, format conversion, trimming, frame capture). All processing happens entirely on the device — VidPlay does not connect to any video source on the internet and does not download video content.
2. Licence
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable licence to install and use VidPlay on iOS devices that you own or control, for your own personal, non-commercial use.
You may not: (a) sell, lease, lend, or sublicense the app; (b) modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the app, except to the extent allowed by applicable law; (c) remove or alter any copyright or proprietary notice; (d) use the app to infringe anyone else's rights, including intellectual-property rights.

4. In-App Purchases and Premium subscriptions
4.1 Plans
VidPlay offers three Premium plans:
- Weekly subscription — auto-renewing every 7 days at the price shown on the App Store at the moment of purchase.
- Yearly subscription — auto-renewing every 365 days. May include a 3-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Lifetime unlock — one-time, non-consumable purchase. Family Sharing enabled (a single purchase covers your Family Sharing group members).
4.2 Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple Account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions at any time in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iOS device.
4.3 Free trial
If the yearly plan offers a free trial, the trial begins as soon as the purchase is confirmed. You will not be charged during the trial. To avoid being charged, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Unused portion of a trial is forfeited if you purchase a subscription mid-trial.
4.4 Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple and refunds are governed by Apple's policies. Submit refund requests at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no ability to issue refunds directly.
4.5 Premium benefits
Active Premium subscribers and Lifetime owners receive: all 8 themes (including all themes added in future updates), unlimited MP3 extraction, unlimited video compression, and removal of in-app advertising.
5. Free tier and advertising
The free tier includes the full video player, picture-in-picture, background audio, subtitles, and a daily quota of three (3) MP3 extractions and three (3) video compressions per local-time day. The free tier displays a banner advertisement at the bottom of the Library, Files, and Tools tabs through Google AdMob.
6. Your content
You retain all rights to the videos and audio files you import into, create with, or export from VidPlay. We do not claim any ownership over your content. Your content is not uploaded to our servers — it stays on your device.
You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the legal right to use the content you import into VidPlay. Do not import or process content that you do not own or do not have the right to use.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use VidPlay to: (a) infringe any third party's intellectual-property or privacy rights; (b) violate any applicable law or regulation; (c) attempt to bypass technical protection measures; (d) interfere with or disrupt the integrity of the app or its servers.
8. Disclaimers
VidPlay is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device or every file format.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of use, arising out of or in connection with the use of VidPlay — even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. In any case, our total cumulative liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or gross negligence).
10. Termination
You may stop using VidPlay at any time by deleting the app from your device. We may suspend or terminate your licence to use VidPlay if you materially breach these Terms. Sections 6 (Your content), 8 (Disclaimers), 9 (Limitation of liability), 11 (Governing law) survive termination.
11. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms will be brought exclusively in the competent courts of Vietnam, except where applicable consumer-protection law in your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts.
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction whose mandatory consumer-protection laws apply, those laws prevail over conflicting terms in this section.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page and update the effective date at the top. Material changes take effect 30 days after they are posted, unless you continue to use VidPlay in the meantime, in which case they take effect immediately upon use.
